Scanography Portraiture

This post documents a period of intense scanning and iteration of digital images during in term 1.

It began with an exploration into drawing on the scanner glass itself. Initially with ash and shells. I began to move my face closer to the scanner and it because a natural development to capture my own image for the first time. This wasn’t something that I’d planned but I chose to embrace the process.

What emerged was a small series of composite images from the scanning session which was shown at The Good Rice Gallery in Winter last year .

Next steps- I’d like to move away from the stark black background and bring more drawing into future images.
